The City

With a friendly and diverse population, easy and safe public transportation, and a year-round moderate climate, San Francisco is fiercely beloved by all who make the city their home. Root for the home team at AT&T Park, get rush tickets to see the world-famous San Francisco Opera, catch amazing views on a cable car ride, grab a burrito and a drink in the Mission District, or explore the natural wonders of Northern California on a day trip out of the city. No matter what neighborhood you're in or what you're doing, in San Francisco you're always entertained.

Theater in the Bay Area

Home to more than 300 resident theater companies, from new-play repertories to acclaimed Shakespeare festivals to Broadway touring houses, the Bay Area loves the performing arts. The Bay Area theater community is both large enough to be nationally noticed and intimate enough to ensure that you'll soon be a familiar face. Actors in the Bay Area are welcome and involved at all levels of the entertainment industry, constantly developing contacts, attending auditions and industry gatherings, and frequently making the successful transition to thriving theatrical and cinematic careers.

Around A.C.T.

A.C.T.'s classroom/studios are closely integrated with A.C.T.'s administrative offices and rehearsal spaces, providing students the opportunity to interact with working artists and theater professionals on a daily basis. A short walk from A.C.T.'s Union Square location, students can explore the theater district, the museums and parks of the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Chinatown, North Beach, and the newly developed Embarcadero waterfront.
